Taxes

There will be no new business or personal taxes. There will be no increasing of business or personal taxes. The only direction for taxes is down. We need to reprioritize our spending and begin having much more accountability with regards to transfers to the provinces, and at the federal level.

Far too many governments at all levels feel the only way to meet budget requirements is to raise taxes and, in conjunction, raise spending that becomes structural. This leads to structural deficits that politicians, who mainly care about getting votes, cannot get out of. This stops now. There is absolutely a place and time for deficit and stimulus spending to occur, but not during economically prosperous times.

The Sentinel Party will start by shrinking government and placing more emphasis on accountability in all government departments. Thoughtful, inventive and efficient solutions and modes of operation will be rewarded and championed, similar to what happens in the private sector.
